3rd Annual ARTWATER FESTIVAL slated for Sat. April 25th, 2009

ARTWATER is a music and arts festival creating awareness for the merchants and citizens of Atwater Village by presenting a day of fun for our neighborhood as well as creating an outreach opportunity to the city at large. Musical and dance performances will showcase the local dance studios and musicians of Atwater Village. In addition there will be booths available for rent for local artists to sell their art and hand crafted merchandise. There will also be interactive creative booths for children and adults as well as food and beverage vendors. All funds raised over and above production costs will be donated to Sonic Muze whose mission is to provide our local schools with art and musical supplies.
The organizers of ARTWATER are hoping that this event will bring together all of the various hard working community organizations, merchants, schools and our creative, diverse resident population in celebrating what little Atwater Village has to offer this big city. In that spirit ARTWATER is seeking submissions from bands, artists and those with ideas on creative interactive activities as well as volunteers to help pull it all together in grand style.
Bands can submit a brief bio and a music sample via MP3, web site or My Space page to danica212@aol.com or drop off a bio and CD to Importante at 3149 Glendale Blvd., 90039. Deadlines for band submissions is Febuary 15th, 2009.
Artists who want to apply for a booth can request an application at danica212@aol.com .
All volunteers in whatever capacity will be welcome but specific needs are a web designer, a graphic artist for flyer design, someone to head a band committee and most importantly a fundraising crew. Address all inquires to danica212@aol.com or stop in at Importante to chat about the possibilities for involvement.
A general ARTWATER meeting will be called in January to entertain all suggestions and offers from all parties who would like to help make this event a memorable one.
